Located just north of Hollywood, Griffith Park and Observatory offers an amazing scenic escape from the bustling city.
Griffith Park offers many different hiking trails and walking paths for all levels of experience and exercise, so whether you are trying to push yourself and work up a sweat, or simply want to enjoy the view on a nice stroll, Griffith Park has a place for you.
The top of Griffith Park offers overlooking views of all of Los Angeles, a chance to see the world famous Hollywood Sign, and is home to the Griffith Observatory.
The Griffith Observatory is an iconic Los Angeles destination and is a world leader in public astronomy. The observatory offers free telescope viewing and has guided tours to teach you all about the wonders of outer space, completely free of charge!
An additional highlight at the Observatory is the Samuel Oschin Planetarium, The Planetarium offers breathtaking shows every 30 minutes that detail the history of the relationship between mankind and the rest of the universe.
Parking at the observatory can be scarce, so either plan on being patient, or bring some walking shoes and anticipate a small uphill trek to get there.
